  1. @kimberlykymbirley Thanks for your reply. You know, I’m doing so much healing right now that I can’t really say what I want to do in the future. When I feel as poorly as I do right now I just want to run…anywhere to get away from life’s challenges.
I do think that we are in for some rough times ahead. Batten down the hatches!
    Stay in touch.

  2. We are int he process of building a cordwood house here in Ky. Trying to get off the grid but honestly I wish I could have built this in Canada. I would like to get out of the U.S. too. Best wishes

  3. Brett, we are so on the same page! I’ve been thing the same thoughts. My friend approached me with a community in Hawaii, but I’m concerned with the weather and radiation. I’ve been thinking about moving to S or Central Am, maybe Belize. I too am trying to find a like minded person. It hasn’t been easy.

  4. This sounds wonderful…I definitely could live like this…my other half talks about living in the wilderness all the time!

  5. i think a lot along these lines lately! i want to end up in Equidor within the next two years and live very simply with a HUGE garden whith hundreds of things growing and local fruit for dirt cheap. one of my friends has told me about shipping container conversion for a house, sounds great to me! i work at a warehouse right now and sometimes i will walk into a box truck and think just how perfect it would be as a dweling!

  6. I think as the forces of global imperialism wane, and the populations that grew up under the prevailing ideologies behind them decline with them, there will be more pushes to live more in harmony with ourselves and our surroundings. Things like grids are only popular in controlled societies, as they are generally inferior to many smaller, more localized sources, whether it be power, water, food, and so on. I think as that becomes more evident, they will rise in popularity and prevalence.
