The first link says you can just heat it up in a reactor and oxidize it. The second link says you can use the MSW to make pellets and burn it in a coal plant, but that’s not a gas like you asked. I think the anaerobic bacteria used in sewage treatment plants could do it. The third link describes something called “plasma gasification.” The last link explains how waste can be turned into energy, but gas is only one of them.
