@GREENPOWERSCIENCE Right now its just two people, but I would like a setup that could handle 4 people. We are thrifty with our water and electric uses (electricity is around 5 to 7kw usage a month). Im also thinking of setting up a vawt wind apparatus too for electricity. Not sure how big we would need. Although completely residential, our property is always breezy and with afternoon wind gusts from 3pm till 8pm as a bonus, I think I could get some free power.
@shirteesdotnet how much hot water do you need?
OK, I have a question I hope you can answer. Here in SoCal, I have a gas water tank. My gas bills are not too high so I wonder if this is going to help me very much? Which would be cheaper… this system plus gas tank, or this system plus electric. My electric bills are not incredibly high either since we dont have air conditioning.
@pyrocrazyUSA Instead of watching television “programming”, this guy is actually doing something! Way to go GPS!

You might add that certain plastics are NOT safe for human drinking purposes and should instruct as to the strict use. Pool is fine.
I will do this in our house>Nice experiment
dunno man but this is done for pools all over the wold all ready.
I wonder if you painted the roof of the car port black if there would be much more of a heat gain than what you already have here?
Great idea though. I have a friend who has made his own black-plastic pipe solar shower and loves it.
For me, though, I’d want to use something other than plastic. I don’t like the idea of any chemicals leeching out of it into the water.

not realistic as a source for hot water.
That was very cool….well not cool but nicely done? LOL We’ve thought of doing this for summer time
Can’t find a rate thingie on the video though,
Where do you get the time?
read your meter daily and keep a log . you might save enough to heat your home water
the girl would do a better job of heating me than a hose
if posting on you tube don’t say negative even if true posts against the power company if yuo want your posts to be accepted otherwise all you get is errors
Will this work in Alaska?
mr.dan rojas,
nice,simple,but it works,safe,no electricity need.
”keep up the good work, both of you”
I’m on my way to Home Depot toget some black plastic pipe. My roof would hold a coil of pipe and it would not even be seen. Thanks for the info.
i live in mn and 34 digreas is warm
I made a heater for my pool with black garden hose. I used a 4×8 sheet of ply wood and drilled holes in it and then ran zip ties through to hold the hose in position. I then covered the whole thing with plexi-glass to hold the heat in. And then insulated pipe to the pool plumbing. It usually brings the temperature up about 10 degrees or more on a sunny day. Makes those early and late season swims, much more enjoyable.
